Number Theory is the study of nonzero whole numbers and their relationships.
An important type of relationship in number theory is that between a factor and a multiple.

Factor and Multiple: If a and b are whole numbers and a does not equal 0, then a is a factor of b if and only if there is a whole number c such that a x c = b. we can say that a divides b or that b is a multiple of a!

Composite numbers: These are numbers that have more than 2 factors. Ex.) 6,8,10,20 and 24 are all composite numbers.
Prime numbers: These are numbers that only have 2 factors. (1 and itself) Ex.) 2,3,5,7, and 11 are all prime numbers.
*Prime Number Test: Suppose n is a whole number and k is the smallest whole number such that k x k is greater than n. If there is no prime number less than k that is a factor of n, then n is a prime number.

I have attached a chart of the prime numbers that are between 1 and 1,000 🙂
